Commissioning an original watercolor is a wonderful way to celebrate a wedding, birthday, or any special event. From a portrait of your home to hang over your mantle, to a painting of your child or grandchild, I have experience working with many clients on a wide variety of commissions. Watercolors aren't just about landscapes: I paint a wide variety of subject matter and I love to paint people. Prices
My prices will vary depending on the size of your piece, the complexity of your composition, and the frame that you choose. UPS Shipping charges to anywhere in the continental US are included with my quotes. A relatively simple 11" by 14" painting in my standard black frame starts at $125. I can advise you on larger sizes if you are interested.

The process
We can talk about frames and I can give you a quote. You can let me know about any changes I should make to the original photo before I begin to paint. I begin by carefully gridding and drawing your photo. I can stay as true to the original photo, or be as creative as you would like. I always send pictures of your painting before I ship. And of course, you're under no obligation to buy the work if you're not happy with the piece. It generally takes about two weeks to complete the piece. It can run longer or shorter depending on your frame.

Framing
My most cost-effective size is 11" by 14" framed out to 16" by 20," but I can paint any size up to 22" by 30." If I need to ship the piece, it will be framed under plexiglass, not glass. My standard frame is a clean, attractive black wood gallery frame with a white mat. I also have extensive resources for custom framing. I can almost always frame your piece for well under what you would pay if you went to Michaels custom framing. (Even with a 50% off coupon.) You don't have to buy your piece in a frame, but most of my clients choose to put my years of experience in purchasing frames to work for them.
